Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his unique blend with soul-jazz R&B and R&B. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway, at the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine's the name of Denise White. The singer hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her music career playing piano and singing in church. She went to Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship at the heart of Atlanta's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The single featuring her voice,"Stalk You the House is only available in Japan. It has been remixed many times, and is the mainstay of her live show. Her voice is also included in the music video for The Fighting Temptations. She was appointed as the principal keyboardist for Tyler Perry's musical Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 about serving as Choral Director of Dreamgirls The stage show that was part of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine became the focus of attention in the course of four consecutive performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was later invited to sing during the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
